What is a Hackerspace?
Raspberry Pi and Arduino
The model has proved to be incredibly popular: in September 2016 the Raspberry Pi foundation announced that they had sold over 10 million devices, making it the best-selling UK-built personal computer ever.
Arduino, first released in 2010, is a small circuit board with a microcontroller chip (typically Atmel but others have been used as well since 2015), and some other parts. Arduino is open-source and intended for use by non-technically-proficient people as well as DIY technology veterans. Arduino was developed in Italy by Massimo Banzi and a group of people who believed hardware and software should be open source and accessible for everyone.
Hackers and hackerspaces alike are changing the world as we know it. People using their creative minds to develop extremely innovative Internet of Things (IoT) products, applications, and services. The beauty lies in the ability to create simply, quickly, and inexpensively.
