This purchase marks a major milestone for Qualcomm. The company is planning to focus some of their efforts on the IoT, transportation, and other emerging markets.

The purchase has been valued at over $47 Billion dollars. Qualcomm has agreed to buy NXP specifically in an effort to expand new markets. A lot of major technology companies are purchasing others as their core businesses slow down.
Moreover, as smartphone sales slow, the need to expand into additional markets such as the Internet of Things increases.

Chinese Electronics Company Issued Massive Recall After Last Weeks DDoS Attach.
Hangzhou Xiongmai Technology has recalled millions of devices due to vulnerabilities that played a large role in last week’s cyber attack. The majority of the devices included webcams, which were at the heart of the attack. The company released this statement: “Security issues are problems facing all mankind. Since industry giants have experienced them, Xiongmai is not afraid to experience them once, too”.
