Below is our complete WiZ connected lights review.
What Are WiZ Connected Lights?
WiZ connected lights are among the newest smart bulbs now available. A primary focus of WiZ lights is the ability to customize lighting for each room. These smart bulbs allow you to set up multiple rooms with multiple bulbs in each room so the user has great flexibility in controlling the lighting atmosphere.
WiZ also offers a wide variety of smart bulbs. With over 15 different lighting options on their website, WiZ provides lighting solutions to illuminate or dim anything you need. Providing advanced smart lighting technology, WiZ stands with the likes of LIFX and Phillips in the smart bulb market.
WiZ Smart Bulbs Features
These bulbs come packing a lot of features. For instance, you can set up multiple rooms, control the bulbs remotely, set schedules, and even control the bulbs through various integrations such as Amazon Alexa and IFTTT.
Below is a brief overview of some of our favorite features:
- 16 million colors
- 64,000 shades of white
- Smartphone control
- No hub required
- Voice control
- Remote control
- Vacation mode
- Progression (lights get brighter slowly and progressively)
- Amazon Alexa
The WiZmote is a surprisingly handy feature of the WiZ lights. It’s a remote control feature that operates the lights. We were skeptical at first, but quickly realized the convenience this adds to a light bulb. You may not always want to open your smartphone in order to control the lights. The remote allows you to quickly turn off or on, turn down the brightness, and even control the color and shade of the lights.
WiZ Bulbs Pros & Cons
- Remote is a convenient accessory
- Affordable price point compared to competitors
- No hub needed
- Remote batteries not included
- Connecting to WiFi took longer than expected
WiZ Connected Lights Review and Final Thoughts
Overall, the WiZ connected lights are an interesting new competitor in the smart bulb market. They are comparable to other bulbs in the market with a couple of the main differences being the price point and the remote control that is included in the kit.
These lights can also be set to be very bright – ideal for many settings and a nice feature. They also offer a lot flexibility and control. Simply put, if you can imagine it, you can find a setting that will work for you.
The actual size of the WiZ bulbs we reviewed was very nice. They are comparable to a standard lightbulb, which makes using these bulbs in any lamp or fixture possible.
The ability to use IFTTT and Amazon Alexa to control these lights is another awesome aspect. Simply and nicely asking Alexa to turn off the lights makes you feel powerful and comfortable at the same time.
All in all, the WiZ connected lights are a serious bright spot in the smart bulb market. Right along side the likes of LIFX and Phillips. Every year we are seeing more and more connected home companies enter the market to add conveniences to our lives like connected lights, connected garage door openers, and everything in between.
It won’t be long until we are living completely connected lives.
